Julie Gottesman

Julie Gottesman is an visual artist based in Seattle, WA

She holds a BFA in Fine Art along with a BA in Philosophy and Comparative Literature from the University of Colorado Boulder.

Her practice is driven by an ongoing act of inquiry to know more, feel more, connect more with the people and the environment that surrounds her. She’s interested in how our memory and emotions impact our perceptions and how what we hold onto, informs how we construct meaning both literally and intuitively.

She has a genuine way of being present with people, meeting them where they are and can establish a trusting connection in order to find a way in. “When I’m creating, the boundaries between work and play disappear. It’s a practice in being present, engaged and open to change. We are what we make and how we live.”
